The East Stand will be the focal point at The Shay Stadium with it offering a wide range of facilities for a varying number of uses. Once complete, it will provide the finest conference and banqueting facilities in Calderdale while the spectator facilities will take the stadium’s capacity above 10,000 for the first time since the 1970’s.
There have been a number of different options looked at in respect of completing the stand, but the favoured choice is a redesign to incorporate extra facilities for the spectator as well as help to fulfil its role as a true community asset.
Below are some ideas for the redesign of the East Stand. These are subject to much discussion, consideration and devaluation.
